H1N1 Flu Shot Clinic Update
November 6, 2009
Dear Sea Pines Montessori Academy Parents,
I am sure you are aware of the attention given to the short supply of the H1N1 vaccine. Due to this short supply, clinics are being rescheduled. Our original clinic date of November 20th will most likely be changed. We will be notified one week before our new scheduled date. However, please return your child’s permission slip as soon as possible since clinics can be scheduled as early as next week.
SPMA is still a “first priority” school since we have students under the age of 10. Therefore, we anticipate still having a H1N1 vaccine clinic. As information becomes available to the school, I will forward it to everyone.
For the comfort and safety of each child, parents (or an appointed guardian) will be asked to attend their child’s vaccination appointment and stay during the duration of the 20 minute clinical observation period afterward. When our date is selected I will work with each of you to coordinate schedules. Unfortunately, we will be unable to vaccinate any child without a parent or appointed guardian in attendance even if the opt-in permission slip has been signed and submitted.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Kelly Ruckno, School Nurse, Sea Pines Montessori Academy
