SPMA Booster Club Nominations!
Dear SPMA Parents:
The SPMA Booster Club Nominating Committee is now accepting nominations for the positions listed below. Anyone interested in running for any office shall notify the nominating committee, in writing or e-mail, of which position they are interested in and include a short biography. Please submit all nominations by April 27, 2010.

Description of Officer Positions
President – Presides at all meetings of the SPMA Booster Club; is an ex-officio member of all committees created by the Organization; represents the Organization on Sea Pines Montessori Academy Board of Trustees; appoints committee chairpersons; creates the agenda for all Booster Club meetings; is available to all members to discuss problems and coordinate communications between the parents and the school; and all matters incidental thereto. Reports monthly to the Sea Pines Montessori Academy Board of Trustees.
First Vice President – Presides in the absence of the President, and allocates among both Vice Presidents the following duties: maintains an informed parent body by publishing from time to time news, events, etc. in the school newsletter; organize and coordinate parent volunteers and Class Parents. Assists President in administration and implementing “public relations functions” such as, but not limited to School Social Events. In the event that the Vice Presidents cannot agree on the allocation of duties, the President shall assign them according to his/her judgment.
Second Vice President – (V.P. of Fundraising) Presides as managerial director for all the special events and/or fundraising committees throughout the year, such as, but not limited to Heritage Booth, silent auctions, in-house fundraising events and the Green Apple Boutique, consults and advises budgeting with the various committees for special events and fundraising; ensures that every committee is well staffed; conducts “audits” periodically through the special events, and advises the President on the status of all such events.
Secretary – Takes minutes of all meetings of the Organization; publishes such minutes to the membership; and maintains permanent records of SPMA Booster Club activities.
Treasurer – Manages the SPMA Booster club bank accounts; maintains updated records of income and expenditures; presents financial reports at each meeting; maintains records necessary to provide donors with letters re: charitable contributions; and consults with the special events/fundraising committee.
