SPMA Needs Your Palm Fronds!

The Booster Club is going for tropical, green and natural St. Patrick’s Day parade float decor this year and they need lots of palm fronds. If you have trimmed yours back or can clip a few fronds, please bring them to school this week.

Saw Palmetto fronds, being wide like fans, will be great for decorating the skirt of the float. Other fronds with long stems will be perfect for children to carry and wave like flags. The “Peace on Earth” Christmas program dove, which the children created with Mrs. Perry, will accompany the float which will carry steel drummers, violinists and singers.

There is a Booster Club meeting Tuesday, March 1st after carpool in the lobby. There are also four float work sessions planned this week:

  • Thursday, March 3rd 8:30 – 9:30 am
  • Thursday, March 3rd 1-3 pm
  • Friday, March 4th 8:30 – 9:30 am
  • Friday, March 4th 1-3 pm

Please come help when you can. The float needs to be mostly decorated before Winter Break (March 7th – 11th) as the parade is Sunday, March 13th. Thank you!

Email the Booster Club with any questions.
