Earth Day 2011 lands on Good Friday, April 22nd which is during Heritage Week, so SPMA is celebrating as follows:

Friday, April 15th: The Art of Conservation – community speakers will visit classrooms to speak about conservation and students will present speakers with classroom designed canvases.

• Primary -11:20 am – Coastal Discovery Museum
• Mudpuppies – 10:00 am – Delisheee Yo
• Moonshells – 10:00 am – Outside Hilton Head
• Lower Elementary – 10:30-45 am – Audubon Society
• Manatees – 10:00 am – Waddell Mariculture Center
• Middle School – 10:00 am – Starbucks

SPECIAL FEATURE: Palmetto Electric will be bringing their Chevy Volt “Plug in Car” (which can drive 400 miles on less than $10) to SPMA at 12:15 to 1:00 pm. Students will have the opportunity to check out the car and ask questions. Parents are invited to see the car too!

Thursday, April 28th: “Children’s Museum of Environmental Sculptures” Coffee & Gallery Reception after morning carpool – invitation to follow.
