Important Upcoming Dates:

• Paint a Pot for Mom! On Saturday, May 7th from 1 to 2 pm, come to SPMA to make a basil, cilantro or mint painted pot for Mother’s Day. The cost is $5 and the proceed go to the 6th years’ Montessori Model United Nations special project for Sierra Leone schools.

• The third part of the SPMA Blueprint Workshop will be held on Monday, May 9th at 3:30 pm. All parents and staff are invited to attend to help finish reviewing the school’s governing document.

• The Suzuki Piano students will have their recitals on Tuesday, May 10th and Wednesday, May 11th at 6 pm. Email Katherine DeFreitas with questions.

• Pre-ordered produce boxes from Heritage Organic Farm can be picked up in the SPMA foyer on Tuesday, May 10th between Noon and 6 PM. To sign up for the May 24th delivery, please call (912) 728-3708. This opportunity is open to the public.

• On Saturday, May 14th from 4 to 7 pm, SPMA will present student-made Gullah books, calendars and prints for sale at Branches during the Taste of the Village event in Wexford.

• SPMA is collecting Books for Tanzania during the month of May. Please bring in any gently used or new books to donate and place them in the large baskets in the foyer.

• Order forms for Bess’ lunch are due each Friday by 10 am for the following week. Lunches can be ordered for 1 to 5 days per week. Call Bess at 785-2377 with questions and for full menu options.

• The Development Committee invites you to participate in a campus naming opportunity to honor your student or another loved one.

Booster Club Notes:

• There will be a SPMA Fishing Tournament to benefit the 2011-12 Scholarship Fund on Monday, May 30th at the Shelter Cove Marina! Anyone interested in helping with the event, please email the Booster Club.

• The Booster Club is looking for Fishing Tournament event sponsors; please see the sponsorship form here. Tournament registration forms and after-tournament party information will be sent home soon.
