School Notes:

2010-11 Yearbooks can be ordered online through Shutterfly here. (Scroll down and look on the left.) There is a hardback version and a softback version from which to choose.

• The Environmental Committee would like to thank Jim Van Dijk and The Greenery for the donation of soil and mulch for one kitchen garden raised bed, Tom Curry and Lowcountry Pavers for the donation of the grey bricks and supporting materials, Mike Novitski and his team for laying the pavers at cost, Marc Bergman and Island Improvements for the setting of the fence and removal of construction debris, Spring Island Trust for the donation of native plants, and Derek Franks (a Bluffton firefighter) who graded the garden area at a much discounted price. All these donations were to supplement the Palmetto Pride grant awarded to SPMA for the creation of a living fence, to increase our recycling and to enhance environmental education. Be on the lookout for many new “green” titles in the school library and for the outdoor compost bins to be installed by Casey Honowitz this summer as his Eagle Scout Project!! Next school year we will be able to compost lunch and snack scraps!
