Important Upcoming Dates:

• Student and staff photos will be taken on October 12th and 13th. Please see the schedule here.

• There will be a Coffee with Head of School on Friday, October 14th at 8:30 to 9:30 am in the atrium. All families are invited to attend, especially new families.

• There will be a Scarecrow Walkabout & Harvest Moon Booster Club Planning Meeting on Friday, October 14th in the atrium.

• The next Gator Cross Country Meet, hosted by Hilton Head Prep, is through the Sea Pines Forest Preserve on Saturday morning, October 15th. Come cheer on our athletes! Call 785-2534 for more details.

• All staff and families are invited to attend the South Carolina Montessori Alliance Annual Conference in Columbia, SC on October 14th & 15th. More details here.

• Save the Date! The Harvest Moon Celebration (dinner & auction) will follow the Scarecrow Walkabout on Saturday, October 22nd in the Sea Pines Forest Preserve. All the details, including the dinner menu, are here.

School Notes:

• The SPMA Gators Cross Country men’s and women’s teams each came in 4th place out of 7 total schools. SPMA’s Phillip Evans (7th grade) was the very first runner overall to cross the finish line out of 114 runners. SPMA had 3 top 15 men finishers and 3 top 15 women finishers. Congrats Gators! • Please consider bringing in food donations for Deep Well now until Christmas Vacation. Thank you!

• Student and staff lunch orders from Bess’ Deli (order form here) are due each Friday by 10 AM for the following week. Grilled Cheese on Wheat has been added to the menu.

• SPMA Spirit Day is every Friday. Please wear your SPMA logo wear to school.

Booster Club:

• Scarecrow Walkabout tickets are available for purchase ($5 per family) at Burke’s Pharmacy or at the event on Saturday, October 22nd. Tell your friends and family!

• Scarecrow assembly has begun in the classrooms. Please contact your room parent if you can lend a hand or have a item to add to your scarecrow.

• This year we are asking that each SPMA family please bring a pumpkin for the pumpkin painting craft table at the walkabout, any size will do and as many as you would like. We will have a few extra to sell to our other friends and family.

• Keep an eye out for our event posters. They are going up this weekend all over town. If you would like one or know of a place that would like to display one, please contact the Booster Club.

• Invitations to the Harvest Moon Celebration (dinner & auction) have been mailed to all SPMA families. If you did not receive one and/or would like an invitation sent to any friends or extended family, please email the Booster Club to have their name/s added to the mailing list. Book your babysitters and invite your friends!

• The Scarecrow Walkabout will take place on Saturday, October 22nd from 12:30 to 3 pm with a Harvest Moon celebration featuring dinner, music and auction from 7 to 10 pm. Please email the Booster Club to get involved.

• The auction items have been great! Please keep up the support. The Booster Club is asking each SPMA family to acquire two donations for the Harvest Moon dinner auction. No item is too big or too small. Please email the Booster Club if you need additional forms or have questions. The auction donation form, donation letter to businesses and the SPMA family donation request letter can also be found online.

• There will be a Scarecrow Walkabout & Harvest Moon Planning Meeting on Friday, October 14th at 8:30 am in the atrium.
