Community of Diversity

Montessori Community of Diversity
Dr. Maria Montessori believed that the role of education was peace: to seek understanding and respect for one another. She also believed that the hope for mankind resided in the child and their inborn potential – that cosmic task that each one may uncover as he/she self-educates using the Montessori curriculum.
At Sea Pines Montessori Academy, we celebrate and respect diversity in our classrooms, especially in the early teenage years. Adolescents are in a sensitive period for the development of their place in the outside world. Students are given room to develop individual talents in music, art, or sports.
We also embrace diversity of culture, as exemplified by our peace tables representing communities from around the world. Sea Pines Montessori Academy Middle School is developing partnerships with schools from around the world to engage in cultural exchange. Our goal is to hold an international student exchange where the lessons learned in the Montessori Elementary program and Model United Nations may be put into social action.
