The Importance of the Kindergarten Year
Montessori is a cumulative building process. The first year in the Primary classroom lays the foundation for the second year. The first two years lay the foundation for the third year or Kindergarten year. The Kindergarten year is a most important year when your child is the oldest, the leader, and the “senior” in the Primary (3-6) class. So much of the work he has done before comes to fruition during that year – academically, socially, emotionally, and physically as well as confidence, self esteem and work skills.

It is tempting, perhaps, to consider sending your child to a different school at this juncture. You may get pressure to place your child at another school for Kindergarten to “guarantee their place in first grade.” But the Kindergarten year in our Montessori program is so important, we urge you to follow through to completion. We often hear from parents that they are so glad they stayed the course in our program to solidify the investment they’ve made in their child’s primary education.
